slow

So I have not really been running.  I think I am in a running funk.  I just haven't felt the need.  I did attempt a run on Sat.  It was a sad sad run.  I barely made it 2 1/2 miles.  My legs felt heavy and I was just so tired.  I think 80 year old men have more energy than I have lately.  I came home and took a four hour nap.  (I know can you still call it a nap after 4 hours?)  I even missed lunch, which really is not me.  I love my mealtimes.  I don't normally miss a feeding at all :)  But on Saturday I missed lunch but enjoyed a lovely 4 hour nap.  I may have to start all over with my running after school lets out this week.  Maybe I will start to get up a bit earlier to run.  Really would just like to be back to the running groove.

My recommendation to get the fire back would be to throw some walk breaks into your run and do it somewhere pretty! Don't put pressure on yourself...it will come back. The four hour nap means your body needs a break (and probably your mind too).

When I get in a funk, I plan a reward for myself for fitting in a short run, or getting in 3 runs in a week. Just something small like a magazine or some ice cream. If that doesn't work, I'll try making a new playlist or finding a new route. Good luck!

I get into these funks all the time but I always eventually get back into the groove. Sometimes putting focus on another form of exercise for a while (a week or two) gets me longing for a good run. If you slept for 4 hours, you probably are just tired and need the rest.

I get this way too sometimes, and i know how frustrating it can be! I don't know if you run to music, but i find putting together a new playlist helps me want to get back out there.

It happens, just keep doing what you can and work through it. Make some other goals for the next few weeks so you keep moving, and don't stress too much.
